Found MY first ever positive Malaria last night. Have seen other peoples but this one was MINE!!! Kind of excited about it now, but at the time was not happy (too much effort!). Wasn't the kind that can kill you, so the patient will be fine after treatment.

So another thing to be crossed off my mental list of things to find...trying to avoid full blown Luekaemias for as long as possible.

Sorry if some of that doesn't make sense...busy night on-call. I WANT SLEEP!!!

I finally got my medical clearance for my second wrist injury!!! No more wearing braces and no more injuring myself!

 Sigh! I wish I had another week to sit around and be lazy, but alas work beckons at 8am on monday.  Oh well I now need money to make up for all the money I spend over the last week while I was holidaying in Sydney and Coles Bay.

Places I managed to get to in Sydney:
~ Zoo - was lovely sunny day, lots of photos
~ Opera House - pretty interesting, some cool architectural photos
~ Blue Mountains -  visited the 3 sisters and then walked down steep little staircase to have a close up look
~ Imax - 3D is cool
~ Kinokuniya - lots of CHEAP manga and NOT wrapped in plastic so can check inside if you have it already,etc
~ Candice's work - very small and hidden in hospital
~ Candice's house - must be quiet, magic cleaning fairy makes tidy

Favourite food place in Sydney is Pancakes on the Rocks. Love the choc pancakes...seriously good :D

Coles bay was a great place to relax, read most of the time, walked on nice little beach and generally was lazy. Just what I needed after running around in Sydney. Will definitely be going back there to do see all the stuff I didn't see this time. House I stayed at was awesome.

I hate Vista all over again!!!!  Last night tried to burn a dvd and the burning program that came with the laptop is insane and woudn't work. So I tried to install Nero, but there is COMPATIBILITY problems with Vista and Nero UNLESS you have the latest Nero which of course I don't have!!!  Downloading a trail version atm, it better work otherwise....something it going to get hurt and it shall not be me!!!

Holidays are meant to be relaxing...and the weather is meant to be nice. Sigh!

I have HOLIDAYS for 2 weeks! 
Holiday plans include:
~ Sydney for 5 days (random spur of the thing)
~ Coles Bay for 3 days
and other boring things like getting car serviced, etc.
But NO work for 2 weeks....happy am I!

1 sleep to go :D Must start packing tonight!!! And find out how many bags I can take as cabin luggage...am not sure about that.

Last day of work for a week...YAY!!!! Happy am I.

While I was oncall last night, I was waiting in the A&E department for some blood. There was a patient there who had a clot in their lung and while I was waiting I overheard the patient and doctor talking about the cause, blah blah (stuff nobody else would be interested in). Then the patient asked "You've only got one lung, right?" The doctor said "No you have 2 lungs and 1 heart, unless you're Dr Who..." That made me smile! The Dr Who reference, not the fact that the patient thought they only had 1 lung! What kind of person thinks that everyone only has 1 lung, they weren't even old, so they weren't just confused. It makes you wonder :p

Last night was great fun! Had lots of laughs. Ross is like Tangent man, Tangent man, what was I saying, Tangent man. He's very fast when it comes to audience comments/participation. Definitely worth seeing :D

Saturday - 1st AE class for Archery. After a few major adjustments was quite enjoying myself by the end of it. Must remember to RELAX!!

Sunday - Visited family

Monday - Collected my Faulty Towers from EzyDVD and started watching :D, food shopping

Tuesday - Very busy day sending blood to hospitals

Wednesday - No Gym as trainer sick, so decided to be lazy!

Thursday - Payday, spent money, donated blood, started Kitty-sitting Lan, oncall work

Friday - Windowscreen in car replaced (insurance paid...YES!!!, spend 4 hours walking around town waiting.

It snowed...LOTS last night, no wonder it was cold! And to make matters worse, we had a fire alarm go off at work at 9 this morning so we all had to stand out in the freezing wind for 20 minutes, until the Firefighters gave us the all clear. Guess who decided to wear proper work pants today and had to freeze in them outside....ME!!!!

I want to go see Ross Noble (been on Spicks and Specs), he's coming Tassie in a couple of weeks, does anyone else want to come along?
